mouseThe directive regarding the protection of animals used for experimental and other scientific purposes was first established in 1986. 

On 18 april 2009 a proposed revision was published. (2 documents here and here) This revision led to strong opposition from several stakeholders. Including VBIO, EMBOESF and the EP agriculture committee

On 7 april 2010 Representatives of the European Commission, the European Parliament and the European Council  reached a compromise
